Big win for Crystal Palace now tenth in the EPL table. Pardew has his biggest win as manager of Crstal Palace. They thrashed league strugglers Sunderland 4-1. Murray opened scoring in the 48th minute when a deflected ball from Bolasie found him alone. Murray made it 1-0 with no one to defend. Hat Trick scored by Bolasie who was a threat in the entire second half. His first came in the 51st minute. His run was right on the shoulders of the defenders and his touch just in time to beat the keeper to the ball. Made it 2-0 for Palace. Two minutes after it was just woeful defending from Sunderland. Bolasie used his strength to out power the central defenders and scored the 3rd for Palace. Nine minutes after that it was still the same long balls causing all the problems. John Oshea again with another error. Glenn Murray was provider for him this time around. Just to powerful as he worked his way through the keeper and defender to make it 4-0. Wickham got a consolation for Sunderland in the 90th minute. Great win by Pardew who is now 6 wins 3 losses and 1 draw in last 10 games with Crystal Palace
Arsenal was away to Burnley in a tough match up given the situation of the home team. Burnley put on a great fight by playing high pressure football. They had two strikers pressing the defenders when Arsenal tried to create from behind. Carzola played alongside Coquelin who was excellent in this game. Ramsey was spread out on the right midfield behind lone striker Giroud. That paid off, his 12 minute strike was all Arsenal needed in a tight game. Arsenal is on tremendous form and have a very deep and balanced squad.
Aston Villa also had a tough away win against the Spurs. The 35th minute header by in form Benteke is all they needed. The Belgian striker has finally found his form after coming back from injury. It was an evenly matched game with both teams creating opportunities. Villa kept a tight watch on Kane and gave him little or no time on the ball. The loss by Spurs dampens their hope for top 4 finish and makes it a tough battle for European football
In other games Swansea drew 1-1 at home against Everton. Everton scored just before halftime although Swansea was the one threatening. Swansea lost Gomis to a thigh injury and will hope it is not that serious. They are pushing in for European football and will need the in form striker. Shelley scored from the penalty spot in the 69th minute to make it 1-1
Southampton scored 2 goals in the second half to win 2-0 against Hull. Goals by Prowse in 5th minute and Pelle in 82nd minute. The win takes them to 5th place with Liverpool yet to play. The battle for Europe will be tough
West Ham continues a long streak without a win. They went ahead after a beauty from the free kick. Cresswell stroke the ball with a beautiful left foot to beat the keeper. That will be one of the goals of the weak as it left keeper stranded. Hammers looked to bag all three points in the last seconds of the game but that was taken away by a beautiful solo effort. Arnautovic run across the center left defenders desperate. His strike was well across goal. The keeper had no chance as Stoke breaks the heart of home fans.
Fourth away wins for today as Leicester City won away at West Bromwich. Albion went 1 up in the 8th minute. Daren Fletcher the scorer. That was cancelled out in the 20th minute by Nugent. Albion went ahead again in the 26th minute and took the lead to the halftime. Leicester came back into the second half with more determination. They scored twice through Huth and Vardy. Great win for them as they increase their hopes to beat relegation.
